Lifeline Tulasi Multispeciality Hospitals completes scarless and revision bariatric procedures for siblings weighing 106 kg and 92 kg in a single session

Lifeline Group of Hospitals has logged an uncommon medical feat, performing two bariatric surgeries on a pair of international sisters the very same day, without complications.
The siblings, aged 36 and 29, entered Lifeline Tulasi Multispeciality Hospital weighing 106.6 kg and 91.8 kg respectively and suffering from morbid‑obesity‑related problems such as high blood pressure, sleep apnoea, fatty liver and joint pain. A surgical team led by Dr JS Rajkumar, Chairman & Chief Surgeon, and Dr Anirudh Rajkumar, Senior Bariatric Surgeon & Joint Managing Director, operated last Tuesday.
“Obesity must be treated without delay, it is a ticking time bomb that can lead to sudden heart attacks, uncontrolled blood pressure, kidney diseases, and other life‑threatening conditions. Bariatric and metabolic surgery is a scientifically proven solution for patients with high BMI struggling to lose weight through conventional methods,” said Dr JS Rajkumar.
Post‑procedure updates show early improvements in both women’s conditions. The younger sister received a completely scarless bariatric surgery, leaving “no visible marks on the stomach in the future,” Dr Anirudh Rajkumar noted. For the elder sibling, the team successfully tackled a complex revision surgery.
“This is not just a surgical success, but the beginning of a healthier, fuller life for both sisters,” Dr Anirudh Rajkumar added. “Over the coming months, they can expect sustained weight loss and major improvements in overall health and energy levels.”
Hospital administrators shared the story during a press briefing at Lifeline Tulasi Multispeciality Hospital, underscoring the institution’s commitment to tackling obesity and related ailments such as diabetes, sleep apnoea and fatty liver disease.
