Lifeline Hospitals was first started in the year 1997 by Dr. J.S Rajkumar and Dr. Chitrakala Rajkumar, in the memory of Dr. Rajarathnam (late), with Dr. Sankaran as their mentor. Formerly known as RIGID Hospital, Lifeline has been providing cutting-edge medical and surgical care for the past 22 years, while being dedicated towards ensuring the overall wellbeing of the community. Dr. JSR makes full use of his charisma to develop a sense of belonging among the staff and patients alike.

Dr. J.S. Rajkumar

Dr. J.S. Rajkumar is one of the pioneers in laparoscopic surgery with an experience of more than 26,000 surgeries, with special expertise in many highly complex procedures. A graduate from Madras Medical College with 32 gold medals to his name, he has also received four medical specializations from the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom.

Dr. J.S. Rajkumar is a leader with unstinted commitment and utmost dedication. Fondly known as Dr. JSR, he started his medical practice immediately after completing his academics and was one of the select few to be part of the First Indian Liver Transplant team at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. In addition to being a leading laparoscopic surgeon in India, he is also a pioneer in stem cell therapy. He successfully carried out stem cell therapy on a paraplegic who is now walking - the first success story in India and the second in the world. One of India’s leading bariatric and laparoscopic surgeons, he is also a successful medical entrepreneur constantly working towards enriching and preserving human lives through his many healthcare initiatives. He has successfully treated 30,000 happy patients till date.

He is a visiting professor in many colleges, serves as an International examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, and has authored several books in medicine. He was also the President of the Association of Surgeons of India (Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry chapters).

Dr. Chitrakala Rajkumar
Managing Director

A Doctor in General Medicine by profession, Dr. Chitrakala Rajkumar graduated from Madras Medical College and trained in Internal Medicine in the U.K for 5 years. She is a healthcare entrepreneur with nearly 20 years of operational experience in executing several health care projects as the Managing Director of Lifeline Group of Hospitals. She has an immense interest in functional and anti-aging medicine and is planning a new start-up vertical known as ‘REWIND’. She also plays a major role in Stem cell research and Therapy. As the Managing trustee of a charitable foundation run by the family, she has not only taken care of the medical and educational needs of HIV and cancer afflicted people but also provided educational support to many orphans and the ones in need.

Dr. Anirudh Rajkumar
Joint Managing Director
Advanced Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Anirudh Rajkumar is one of the youngest Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons and an active faculty at the Minimally Invasive Surgical Training Institute (MISTI), since 2015. He has trained nearly 500 surgeons as of December 2016. He is a certified Robotic Surgeon, who has performed more than 500 Laparoscopic surgeries.

Mr. M. S. Raman
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Raman oversees the finance and accounting department of the Lifeline group. He also handles the statutory compliance of the company. With over 33 years of experience managing finance, accounting and audit functions in a myriad of industries viz., consumer products manufacturing, Computer industry, FMCG, Building Equipment manufacturing, Electricity industry, Shipping industry (Logistics, Agent, Broker), and Healthcare, Raman has been actively involved in various mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, business valuations, and project start-ups both in India and abroad.

Prior to his current position as our CFO, Mr. Raman was Group CFO of a large international shipping group based at Dubai. Earlier he spent 10 years in senior auditing positions with public accounting firms. Mr. Raman has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and is an Associate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Dr. Natesh Bala
Vice President- Strategy & Growth

A dynamic professional with 24 years of outstanding cross-cultural experience in all phases of business operations - Dr. Natesh is responsible for the creation, administration, and implementation of business development strategies for the organization to help significantly accelerate its growth and profitability. He has been pivotal in promoting medical tourism in India for the last 10 years, helping and guiding patients from various African and Asian countries. He has also been a part of top management in diverse industries including healthcare & software. Dr. Natesh is currently the President of Global Strategy & Head of Asia and MEA operations of the Lifeline group.

Ms. Kundhavi Anirudh
Vice President- Branding

With a post graduation in Hospital Management and her technological expertise gained during her undergraduate, Ms Kundhavi adds strength to our Management Team. Further, she has gained her expertise by being closely associated with Hospital Administration for a considerable period. Having been a part of various cultural events where she honed her eye for detail & branding expertise, she now heads our branding team as a vice president of the department.

Dr. K.P. Dinakaran
Medical Administrator

A General Physician & Diabetologist by profession, Dr. Dinakaran has been associated with Lifeline since 2007. He has over 15 years of medical experience and plays the role of a medical administrator in the hospital making sure the hospital is up to date with state-of-the-art technologies and advance medical equipments among other things. He comes with previous experience as a medical administrator in various eminent hospitals in India and Maldives and repeatedly proves to be an asset to Lifeline.

Ms. Shalini Wadhwa
Senior Operations- Manager

Having graduated from Ethiraj College Chennai, Shalini Wadhwa started her career in the year 2000 at Rigid hospitals, now known as Lifeline Hospitals. Since then, she’s been playing a dynamic role as a Senior Manager in Operations making sure that the hospital runs with its fullest efficiency in every aspect. She also takes special care to ensure that good hospitality and genuine treatment is delivered to all the patients throughout their stay in the hospital.

Ms. Akila Prem
Senior Manager- Administration

Akila Prem, a home science graduate from Queen Mary’s, started her career with the then known Rigid Hospitals in the year 2002 and has played a significant role in the smooth and efficient administration of the hospital since then. As a senior manager of Administration, she takes keen interest in looking after patient care and staff management, ensuring the effortlessly smooth running of the hospital.
